Hello, lovely! I'm Lauryn, the creator of belLOwed. As my first post in my own space, I'm going to be doing a little about me. It will be shorter than most of my future blog articles because (1st fun fact) I'm terrible at intros! So, please bear with me as we learn and grow together in this creativity outlet.
Additionally, I will definitely be covering some serious personal topics as this space develops, however, there will be trigger warnings provided as needed. This is just a light-hearted get-to-know-me (think of the first day of classes 'fun fact about yourself'- except somehow even more awkward because its yours truly and longer because I'm currently the only student enrolled).
It may be a little rough, but aren't all firsts? Think of your first time moving, interviewing for a job, or even posting a Facebook status. Or don't, because the goal is not to traumatize you.
Speaking of goals --
This article will: Provide a little insight to the super enthralling tales of my life.
This site will: Provide a space for myself and eventually others to create a safe and diverse opportunity for creativity sharing, confidence building, love pouring, and community growing.
Class is now in session--
The Basics ---
Life: 20 years old- born and raised in Spooner, WI.
Education: I am a junior at Winona State University in Winona, MN, where I study Recreation
and Tourism.
Work: I work in the Art and Design office at WSU where I do mostly secretarial tasks. I also
sell tickets at the Theater and Dance department box office.
Hobbies: I've been a photographer for about five years now. I've also been writing poetry
and short stories for over ten. This is my first semester as president of the French club at WSU. I also enjoy a good Netflix binge, Spotify session, late-night drive, and 1-on-1 with my cat like the average human.

(sometimes) Fun facts ---
I'm allergic to Tide (yes, the laundry detergent) but don't worry, they apologized to me on Twitter about it.
I'm an only child, but my mom calls my dog, Maggie, my sister.
I plan on getting my pilot's license in a few years.
I was once hit in the head with a golf club by a friend trying to teach me how to swing the club better.
I don't know how to ride a bike because after moving on from training wheels to a 'big girl bike' I got scared.
I'm also afraid of bugs and some heights.
I've currently been to 11 states in the U.S.
"I like to use to the word "dude" as a noun, or an adverb, or an adjective." (truth but probably not as much as Nick Jonas...) *cough cough, the blog title*
I switched my major/minor once from Therapeutic Recreation and Psychology.
The writer of some horror movies spammed my Insta for inspiration from my scary life. (I actually don't know his reasoning).
I went to four different high schools.
I have a scar from the first time I made pizza.
I'm an unashamed Gemini- I can also tell you why it's not accurate (shoutout to Astronomy class).
My dream job is event planning at Disneyland Paris.
My cat was named after Cheryl Blossom on Riverdale.
I've had over 9 years of Spanish and 3 semesters of French classes.
Favorites:
animal: manatee
color: blue
TV show: Reign
movie: Breakfast at Tiffany's
book: Looking for Alaska by John Green
flower: yellow rose
food: potatoes
holiday: Christmas
music genre: indie pop
scent: lavender
Finally, I plan to either begin or end each article with a poem, quotation, or lyric depending on content and my recent level of inspiration.
"nicknames"
I know a girl
who has 1000 names
she wears like a string of pearls.
The water to her flames;
I only know her in the night.
The hymn to your Nile;
tell me what she's like in the mid-day light.
Does she still set off sirens with her smile?
